Traveling by car to Serbia provides a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of this magnificent Balkan country. Freedom of movement and the opportunity to explore various corners of Serbia make road travel around this country exciting and comfortable. However, before you travel to Serbia in your own car, it is important to consider a few key points.

Why do you need an IDP in Serbia?

If you plan to drive in Serbia as a foreign tourist, it is highly recommended that you carry an International Driving Permit (IDP). This document is recognized internationally and has been translated into various languages, including English. While national driver's licenses are often accepted, having an IDP can make dealing with local authorities much easier and provide additional proof of your driver qualifications.

If you do not have an IDP when driving in Serbia, you may face fines from local law enforcement agencies. The amount of the fine may vary depending on the nature of the violation and the policies of the law enforcement agency. Therefore, it is always better to have an IDP with you in Serbia to avoid unpleasant situations.
